Police Seize Counterfeit Goods Worth Over R5 Million

Africa-Press – South-Africa. Bloemfontein police have seized counterfeit goods worth over R5 million during an operation in the CBD.

More than 6,000 fake items were confiscated during this week’s raid, led by the Counterfeit and Illicit Goods Unit and other law enforcement agencies.

Seized items include clothing, shoes, and luxury accessories.

In March, more than R200 million worth of counterfeit goods were confiscated across the country.

Police spokesperson Amanda van Wyk said, “Similar operations were carried out in other provinces this week as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the illegal trade in counterfeit and illicit goods across the country.”
