Ramaphosa Calls Magaqa's Murder Details Very Sad

Africa-Press – South-Africa. African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa says hearing how the murder of former ANC Youth League secretary general Sindiso Magaqa was carried out is very sad.

This comes after one of the four men accused of his murder pleaded guilty.

Sibusiso Ncengwa on Monday told the Pietermaritzburg High Court that he formed part of the group that carried out the murder.

Magaqa was shot execution-style in KZN’s Umzimkhulu in July 2017.

In his admission of guilt, Ncengwa also implicated a few ANC municipal officials, saying they paid more than half a million rand for the hit.

During a doorstop interview in Atteridgeville, Pretoria West earlier on Tuesday, Ramaphosa said the party had some self-analysis to do.

“It’s very sad to be hearing revelations like these, we are very saddened and obviously as an organisation, as the ANC, we’ve got a lot of introspection to do and that will be done and will be dealt with in due time.”
