Africa-Press – South-Africa. Despite some damning allegations coming out of the Madlanga Commission, the Presidency said that President Cyril Ramaphosa would not take any action at least until an interim report was finalised.
The Madlanga Commission was set up by Ramaphosa to look into alleged corruption within the justice and crime prevention sector.
Since the start of the commission nine days ago, some high-ranking government officials have already been implicated in wrongdoing by witnesses.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Cabinet lekgotla in Pretoria on Tuesday, Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni said it was too early for Ramaphosa to make any conclusive decisions.
“We have indicated that we will not have a running commentary on the Madlanga Commission but you will recall that when the president announced the commission, he announced a two-phased approach – in three months there must be an interim report and in six months there will be a final report. So we must wait.”
