Africa-Press – South-Africa. The R27-million sponsorship deal, over three years, for Royal AM football club is as good as done. That’s according to the sponsor – Msunduzi Local Municipality, amid a furore over the deal. Some local residents and opposition parties are questioning the decision of a municipality that’s under administration. Under the new deal, the City’s Harry Gwala Stadium, which is a 2010 World Cup legacy project, will be Royal AM’s home ground. The venue had no anchor tenants following Maritzburg United’s relegation from the DStv Premiership. Royal AM has declined to comment at this stage.
