Africa-Press – South-Africa. The Premier Soccer League (PSL) have confirmed the decision to abandoned the DStv Premiership fixture between Royal AM and Mamelodi Sundowns at Chatsworth Stadium, KwaZulu-Natal.
The match kick started at the 15:00 but 24 minutes into the fixture, it was brought to a stop and relevant parties was consulted before a decision was reached.
The league confirmed the postponement of the fixture on Twitter: “The #DStvPrem Fixture between Royal AM and Mamelodi Sundowns has been abandoned due to inclement weather. The new date and Kick-off time will be announced in due course.”
It was the final league match for champions-in-waiting Sundowns – and they would have celebrated under a rain of confetti with the Premiership trophy.
But celebrations have also been placed on ice.
The PSL also confirmed the postponement of the KwaZulu-Natal derby between AmaZulu and Golden Arrows.
A new date and time will be confirmed in due course for both fixtures.
