Africa-Press – South-Africa. The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is seeking to increase cooperation among member states in the recovery of ill-gotten wealth when the bloc’s Anti-Corruption Committee (SACC) meets on Wednesday.

The SACC will be meeting in Boksburg from 23 to 25 November and will be chaired by Andy Mothibi the outgoing committee chairperson.

Mothibi is also the head of the Special Investigating Unit.

In a statement, the SACC said: “The aim of the meeting is to strengthen the efforts to implement the SADC Strategic Anti-Corruption Action Plan (2023 to 2027), partnerships in recovery of assets, and enhance coordination between the SADC secretariat and member states through the anti-corruption agencies.”

During the two-day meeting, the SACC will explore emerging trends in corruption across the region.

It said in a statement:

The SADC Strategic Anti-Corruption Action Plan 2023 to 2027 will replace the 2018 to 2022 model which ends in December.
