Africa-Press – South-Africa. The Hawks have arrested a second person in connection with the 2022 murder of a Mpumalanga police officer.
Hawks spokesperson, Colonel Katlego Mogale said: “More arrests cannot be ruled out.”
The 39-year-old person was taken into custody in Mkhondo over the weekend.
The arrest comes after a 30-year-old person was taken into custody in Evander on Thursday.
Both the 30-year-old and the 39-year-old are expected to appear in the Mkhondo Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
They have been charged in connection with the murder of Warrant Officer Langelihle Hlatshwayo, who was shot while entering his home on 18 February last year.
He was transported to a hospital in Mkhondo and was later taken to a Mediclinic in Trichardt in a critical condition, but he succumbed to his injuries.
