Africa-Press – South-Africa. A senior officer in the Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department (TMPD) said some high-ranking officials within the service are refusing to avail themselves for vetting.
TMPD’s deputy chief, Sean Bolhuis, has taken the witness stand at the Madlanga Commission on Wednesday.
Bolhuis is responsible for training and innovation at the TMPD, and he is the acting chief of staff to the head of the TMPD.

He is expected to shed more light on the alleged corruption and tender rigging at the TMPD.
Bolhuis said some senior managers within the TMPD have not been vetted, despite handling sensitive documents.
“It is cumbersome for me to think, and I won’t mention names, that certain senior officials refuse to get themselves vetted. I immediately availed myself for vetting because it is required for me in my position when I deal with sensitive information, not only internally in the department but also in the City of Tshwane and also IGR [inter-governmental relations] levels.”
