Africa-Press – South-Africa. Limpopo police have launched a manhunt for the killers of the headman of Gumbu village, who was gunned down in front of his house over the weekend.

Takalani Andries Gumbu, 40, was shot as he got out of his car after reportedly arriving home on Sunday at about 22:00.

The perpetrators fled the scene on foot, said police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.

“The police were called, and on arrival, the victim was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds. He was certified dead on the scene,” said Mojapelo.

“The suspects must be hunted down and brought to book. We call on community members with information to come forward,” said Limpopo police commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe.

The motive for the murder is unknown and police investigations are continuing, according to Mojapelo.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact investigating officer Sergeant Theophilus Musumuvhi at 064 647 4058.
