Africa-Press – South-Africa. The City of Tshwane Emergency Services Department is urging residents to stay alert as forecast heavy downpours may lead to localised flooding and power outages.

The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms.

The storms will bring heavy rain, strong winds, hail, and possible lightning, which could lead to localised flooding, especially in low-lying areas and informal settlements.

Drivers are advised to be extra cautious,i as the rain could result in poor visibility and slippery road conditions.

Tshwane EMS spokesperson Lindsay Mnguni urged residents to stay informed with the latest weather updates and follow all safety recommendations.

“Residents are encouraged to monitor the warnings and alerts issued by the South African Weather Service and other credible sources, and to immediately follow the recommended safety tips,” said Mnguni.
