Africa-Press – South-Africa. Two men were arrested in connection with the murder of a petrol attendant, whose body was found in a drain behind the petrol station he worked at in Hendrina, Mpumalanga.
The men, aged 24 and 27, were arrested on Thursday evening, Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli said.
Providing further details, he said police were alerted when the petrol station manager grew concerned about an unusual smell coming from a drain behind the premises.
“He (the manager) then went out to investigate and the drain lid was opened where a gruesome discovery of a half-naked body of a human being was made,” Mdhluli said.

“The police as well as other roleplayers were summoned to the scene. A murder case was then opened after it was established through forensic aid that the victim had been murdered. Police immediately began with the probe [and] a team of experts in the field of investigation was assembled.”
The body was determined to be that of Lifa Yinda, 39, who worked at the petrol station.
His family identified him.
His co-workers hadn’t seen him for a week, but had not reported him missing.
Mdhluli said the motive for the murder was unknown.
