Africa-Press – South-Africa. Two men who were accused of robbing a woman were stoned to death in an alleged vigilante attack in Siloam, Limpopo on Wednesday and their bodies were set alight.
Their vehicle was also torched.
Police rescued a third man from the mob and arrested him in connection with the robbery.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said:
“Community members gave chase and caught up with the robbers after they made an accident.”
A mob gathered around the police station to demand the release of the third man but police dispersed them.
Cases of robbery, attempted kidnapping, murder and malicious damage to property will be opened.

The third man is expected to appear before the Siloam Magistrate’s Court soon.
Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe said: “The tendency of some community members to take the law into their own hands will be dealt with mercilessly and those responsible will be hunted down and brought to book.”
