Africa-Press – South-Africa. Western Cape police will include metro law enforcers in their festive season crime strategy.
The provincial South African Police Service (SAPS) launched its safer festive season operation in Mitchells Plain on Thursday.
Thousands of law enforcement officers from SAPS, provincial traffic, and metro police gathered at the Rocklands Sports Complex.
According to the SAPS, high-density operations under Operation Shanela, roadblocks, stop and searches and the tracking and tracing of wanted suspects will dominate this period.
Western Cape police added that an aggressive stance would be taken against serious and violent crimes so that the public can enjoy a peaceful holiday without fear of crime.
