Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) said that the party will never receive the former deputy minister of defence and veterans affairs, David Yau Yau, should he abandon the ruling party again in the future.

The Acting Press Secretary in the Office of the First Vice President, Puok Baluang, told The City Review in an exclusive interview that Yau Yau had left the SPLM-IO party while on his probation period, and that the party would not be in a position to give him another consideration.

“If he (Yau Yau) comes back again, it will not happen. We will not be having a position for that and we will be having a saying on the issues,” Baluang said.

Baluang said that the internal regulation of the SPLM–IO Political Party only gave a three-month observation for the full membership of the new member and that Yau Yau did not complete three months before he abandoned the party.

“Our internal Regulation as SPLM-IO gives a new member three months of observation after he becomes a full member and goes with a policy of the party, he was under probation according to the SPLM-IO Constitution which is three months,” he said, adding that Yau Yau’s defection does not affect the SPLM-IO whatsoever.

Yau Yau declared his allegiance to the SPLM political party after he previously joined the SPLM –IO political party.

In his resignation letter, Yau noted that his resignation from the SPLM –IO party was a call from the people of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area.

“I regret to inform you that, the reason for my resignation is a call from my community, I have consistently faced resistance against my decision to be in the SPLM –IO since joining,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the SPLM National Secretariat confirmed the reception of Yau to the SPLM political party.

The Secretary General of the SPLM political party, Peter Lam Both, told The City Review that Yau Yau has declared his allegiance to the SPLM political party in Pibor this afternoon.

“He has now declared his return to SPLM in Pibor this afternoon,” said Lam.
