Africa-Press – South-Sudan. Seychelles exit competition after second loss to the Barea

Our national selection will not take part in the final stages of the 2022 African Nations Championship, after losing their away match in the qualification stage 0-3 against the Barea of Madagascar on Sunday at the Stade Municipal de Mahamasina, in Antananarivo.

A brace from Drogba (5th and 90+3) and another goal from Rinjala in the 68th minute were enough to dump Seychelles out of the competition, after losing 0-1 their home match which took place at the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex in St Pierre, Mauritius.

The qualifiers will decide the participating teams of the 2022 African Nations Championship which features only national team players who were playing in their country’s own domestic league.

A total of 42 – out of 54 – Caf member national teams entered the qualifying rounds, split into zones according to their regional affiliations, and the draw for the qualifying rounds was held on May 26, 2022 at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
