Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The Executive Director of the Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO) Edmund Yakani has called on the government to urgently deploy the first batch of the graduated unified forces.
In a statement seen by The City Review, Yakani urged the government to roll out training of the phase two of the unified forces.
“We need to see a speedy redeployment of the first graduate unified forces across the country and roll out of phase-two for the training of the unified forces for their graduation before the end of this year,” he said.
The activist should also reconstitute the political transitional institutions such as the political party council and the National Election Commission and the National Constitution Review Commission,”
The first graduation of the first batch of the Necessary Unified Forces (NUF) was held on August 30, 2022.
The reports indicate that the graduation involved a total of 21,973 personnel: 3,308 for the VIP protection force of the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF), 4,366 for the national police, 6,315 for the National Security Service, 1,120 for the Prison Service, 3,575 for the Wildlife Service, and 3,289 for the Civil Defence Force.
However, some of the forces were graduated in their respective centres across the states marking the completion of the graduation of the first batch of Necessary Unified Forces.
