Africa-Press – South-Sudan. A fact-finding ad-hoc committee formulated to probe Western Equatoria State leadership wrangles began consultations with stakeholders in the state capital, Yambio, today.
The committee arrived in the state on Wednesday from Juba to investigate the root causes of the conflict that has partly rendered the government dysfunctional for about a month now.
According to the committee’s program, signed by Peter William Whutkah, the secretary of the fact-finding ad-hoc committee, there was a plan to meet the governor, the state cabinet, security organs and other groups as well as Azande Community Chiefs as of Thursday morning.
The committee is expected to meet with the Balanda Community leaders of faith-based groups separately, and will conclude their meetings with any other groups deemed appropriate on Saturday.
