Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The Minister of Interior said the government will recruit and graduate more police officers at Rajaf Training Center in a bid to remove elderly police officers from active duty.
Angelina Teny said the police training center will be receiving more cadets as soon as Phase Two of the Unification of Force is completed.
Minister Teny stated that the veteran officers must be transferred from active duty to diplomatic missions and other public duties in the country.
“As soon as we complete phase two of Unification, we will now be in the process of receiving cadets,” Angelina said Thursday.
She spoke at the graduation ceremony of over 800 Cadets including 741 Police officers, 104 from Internal Security and 25 others from Civil Defense.
“This means we will receive cadets, we graduate, and we will also exit the elder people in the organized forces to go and also use their experiences elsewhere to serve the country and so on.”
“So, I want to say that the work of transformation is at the heart of our strategy and training is the center of transformation.”
Minister Angelina said she believes the newly graduated cadets will assist in combating crimes in the country.
The graduation was attended by President Salva Kiir, First Vice President Riek Machar, Ministers, IGP General Atem Biar Marol, IGP of Rwanda, National Police Service, UN Representative.
