Bishop Mogga Urges Reconciliation This Christmas

Africa-Press – South-Sudan. As South Sudanese celebrated Christmas this year, Bishop Martin Mogga of the African Inland Church called on citizens to embrace unity, forgiveness, and reconciliation, urging them to leave behind divisions and pave the way for peace in 2026.

Speaking on Eye Radio Sundown Show yesterday, Bishop Mogga said the celebration of Christmas reflects the country’s journey from oppression to liberation and its transformation into a Christian nation after years of struggle.

He urged Christians to focus on kindness and reconciliation, even amid economic hardships.

“South Sudanese love celebrating Christmas because it reminds them of their liberation and faith in Christ. Even if there is no money, every home serves hope. They will reconcile,” Bishop Mogga said.

The cleric stressed the importance of repairing relationships at a personal level.

“Even your neighbor, if you are not good with them, this is the day to be good, because Christ came to unite us as one people and to live in fellowship together,” he added.

This year’s festive season has been marked by insecurity in some states, economic challenges, and flooding in several areas, making Bishop Mogga’s message even more relevant.

During his Christmas Eve address, President Salva Kiir also urged citizens to remain resilient and work toward peace and unity despite the ongoing challenges.

Bishop Mogga said the spirit of Christmas offers an opportunity to heal divisions and build a more peaceful and united nation.
