Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The Black Eagle Football Club has advanced to the local first-division league in Juba for the first time in its history after a dramatic and exciting victory over Al-Huria in the second-division championship on Sunday at Buluk Stadium in Juba.

The referee showed a red card to Freedom team assistant coach Isaac Michael in the 60th minute due to his objection and protest against his decision to award a violation to Black Eagle FC. The Black Eagle team completed the match with ten players after a player, Aleu Wol, was sent off in the 66th minute after he committed a violation against rival player Sigalli in the midfield.

The only goal of the match was scored by substitute Madut Atem in the 77th minute with a shot from outside the goal area.

Peter Angok, the coach of the Black Eagle, explained in a statement to Radio Tamazuj that the match was very difficult, adding that they were in dire need of a win because their draw with Al-Hurria would have meant their decline and their failure to qualify for the Central Promotion League due to the victory of their other competitor, Nyakuron FC.

He stressed that their 1-0 victory made them champions of Group A by goal difference over Nyakuron, praising the performance shown by his team in the match and their best efforts.

He revealed that they made an important change by removing a defender and inserting a striker, playing on rebounds and long balls, and closing their areas, and succeeded in achieving victory, stressing that the confrontation was not easy at all.

Angok attributed the reason for their qualification to the Center League and their promotion to the first division to their success in exploiting their postponed matches in the best possible way by winning all of them, drawing two, and winning six in the second round.

Thus, Black Eagle snatched the first qualification ticket to the Center League and was promoted to the top flight from the first group of freedom, after defeating 1-0, raising its score of points to 34, with which it rose to the top of the standings on goal difference from Nyakuron, who has the same score of points, while Freedom’s score froze at 32, and it lost its two qualification tickets to the Center League and promotion to the Highlights League to Black Eagle and Nyakuron.

Black Eagle had entered the match and had no other choice but to win over Al-Hurria to reserve one of the two qualification tickets to the Center League and promotion to the Highest league, while Al-Hurria entered the match with a chance of winning or drawing, but the match ended with them losing 1-0, thus qualifying both Black Eagles and Nyakorun to the center league and promotion to the top flight.
