Africa-Press – South-Sudan. Heads of South Sudan main armed opposition SPLM-IO’s national security and military intelligence services have reportedly fled into hiding in Juba after the National Security Service (NSS) sought to arrest them the night heavy deployment of troops took place around residence of First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar.
Gen. Yiey Dak Wieh is the Director General of National Security Service, while Dhiling Keah is the Director of Military Intelligence of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army in Opposition (SPLA-IO).
Speaking to Sudans Post this afternoon, a senior South Sudan main armed opposition official who is close to First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny said did not indicate if the two men are hiding, but said they have the right to hide pointing to Monday night deployment of troops around FVP Machar’s residence.
“Now since we came to Juba, we have no security and we have not seen anything as protection as claimed by our partners in peace and that is why our security has been deteriorating day by day until we have seen the situation in which the residence of the First Vice President was surrounded by security forces yesterday,” he said.
“Following this critical development, the General Yiey Dak and General Dhiling Keah cannot guarantee their security in the town and that is why they have the right to hide, but I can’t say if they are hiding or not,” the official who requested not to be named said from Juba.
