Africa-Press – South-Sudan. Jonglei Deputy Governor, Jacob Dengdit, led a delegation of leaders to Duk County to reconcile the county commissioner, John Chatim, with the area Paramount Chief, Deng Mabur.

Chatim had opened a case against Mabur, which was later dismissed by the judge of the Jonglei high court.

Dengdit said the county commissioner would now resume his duties.

“If there is a misunderstanding between the commissioner and the paramount chief and the chiefs here, we have reunited the commissioner. [He] came to Duk Padiet and he was warmly welcomed by the leadership,” Akech said.

He said all the differences have been ironed out, and they would begin a new chapter.

“Our commissioner, John Chatim, has been the commissioner of Duk County since he was appointed by the president, anything that went wrong or that people complained about has been ironed out, and I am going to keep him here as the commissioner of Duk County,” he revealed.

Chatim exuded confidence that the differences between him and the chiefs have been resolved and that they are ready to start a new beginning.

“The simple issues that caused misunderstanding among us have been resolved, and we are now ready to work together for our people of Duk County,” Chatim said.
