Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The former Congolese international, Mfumu Mbenza Faustin, signed a two-year contract with an option for extension until 2025 with the Juba-based Second Division team. He takes over from former player Taban Martin Lasuba, who had been serving as caretaker since August 2022.
Faustin joined from Ligue 1 club FC Renaissance of Congo Vodacom for an undisclosed fee.In his address to the media, he expressed commitment and vowed to use his knowledge and abilities to advance the team to the top of the Juba League.
” I am here to work for the betterment of the club. I and the players need to work hard and together in order for us to fulfil the dream of the club,” the new head coach stated.
“You, the players, and I were given the responsibility to take the team high, which is first division, so get from me today that we must take Nasir back to the top of the Juba League.”
According to the coach, the team’s success would depend on everyone’s ability to maintain discipline, including the coaching staff.
“The most crucial thing is for us to cooperate, and cooperating begins with individual discipline, which requires that we respect one another, “We must uphold discipline for the club and match officials, both on and off the field,” Mr. Faustin stated.
Mr. Faustin is a Congolese international coach with a CAF “A” licence that qualifies him to coach even national teams. In the Congo, he was the assistant coach of FC Renaissance du Congo Vodacom Ligue 1.
He was also the former coach of Nedal Nuhud in Sudan for two years. Mr. Faustin also coaches a club in Angola called Kimbacom3 FC before becoming the Congo’s National Team U-17 in 2020.
