Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The Bright Stars Men’s National Basketball Team lost the first of three friendly games against the Brazilian side.

The South Sudan’s boys were beaten by a medium margin of 85-75 on scores.

South Sudan trailed Brazil 21-20 at the end of the first quarter, but recovered in the second quarter to defeat Brazil 47-42. The Bright Stars maintained their lead in the third quarter, scoring 63-61 to secure the victory.

Unfortunately South Sudan crushed in the fourth quarter, which is the final quarter of a basketball game, as Brazil won the international friendly game, 85-75.

The game left South Sudanese players in a foul mood as they left the court without shaking hands with several of the Brazilian players.

The game featured the new South Sudanese NBA players who had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills to bring home the trophy.

Venezuela is their next opponent before concluding with hosts Australia.

Boomers Vs. World is an event specifically organized by Australia’s basketball federation to enable their men’s national team to demonstrate their abilities against basketball teams ranked in the top 20 in the world.

South Sudan will meet Puerto Rico in their first FIBA World Cup game this month on August 26th before playing China and Serbia.
