Africa-Press – South-Sudan. Veteran politician Joseph Lagu has been hospitalized in Nairobi, Kenya, where the 94-year-old is undergoing medical treatment for an unclear condition.
General Lagu was seen on hospital bed greeting Dr. James Wani Igga, South Sudan’s Vice President for Economic Cluster.
Dr. Igga, who was heading to Germany through Nairobi reportedly stopped by to visit him on Wednesday.
The office of Vice President Igga confirmed he visited the veteran leader “who is undergoing medical attention in Karen Hospital, in Kenya.”
It said General Lagu was admitted to the Karen Hospital a few days ago. But this outlet could not ascertain when exactly was Lagu hospitalized.
“H.E. (Wani) wishes him quick recovery. Vice President made visited South Sudanese who are hospitalised in Kenya on the Muslims Feast of Adha al Mubarak festivals.
On June 8, General Lagu received President Kiir who paid homage to him at his residence in Juba “wished him good health.”
