The Minister of Information in the Greater Pibor Administrative Area says four people were killed and ten others injured in a road accident on Wednesday morning.

Minister Jacob Werchum said the vehicle involved in the accident was operated by a UN Korean contractor.

He said the vehicle veered off the road and overturned, killing four people and leaving ten others injured.

“This morning in Pibor, a truck rented by UN Korean contractors from Venus Efrem Red Murram Company was involved in a severe road accident. The vehicle veered off the road and overturned after missing the route. Tragically, four people lost their lives, and ten others sustained injuries of varying severity,” he explained.

The minister added that the injured were quickly assisted and transported to Pibor Health Facility for medical treatment.

“The injured were quickly attended to and transported to Pibor Health Facility for medical care,” adding that the government extends its deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones in this heartbreaking incident and wishes a swift recovery to those critically injured.
