Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The rebellious staff of Western Equatoria State have finally resumed normal operation after a week-long go-slow.

A section of the staff led by deputy speaker Kennedy Gaaniko on Monday, October 31 announced they will resume duties, bringing to public bickering between him and Governor Alfred Futuyo.

The group withdrew their participation in the state activities citing a lack of transparency in Futuyo’s administration.

“This issue was purely administrative [matter]. It has nothing to do with party or tribal politics,” Gaaniko said at a press conference.

“Now we are going to issue another press statement for our resumption,” he added.

Meanwhile, governor Futuyo who had banned all political gatherings in the state, said that he will welcome the ‘breakaway’ group back “with love”.

“I am still the head of the state. I have to welcome them back as my children,” added the governor who did not disclose whether his earlier order to ban political activities will continue or not.

“I will slaughter a bull [when they will resume] so that we celebrate their resumption.”
