Africa-Press – South-Sudan. Officials in Aweil Centre County of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State said a hunter identified as Ukelo Uchala was found dead after a tree branch fell on him in the Yabuli area located between Western Bahr el Ghazal and Northern Bahr el Ghazal States.
Peter Natali, Aweil Center County Commissioner, told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that Uchala, who was planning to harvest honey, started cutting a tree branch that fell and killed him.
The incident happened on Sunday.
“This person in the last three days went hunting the honey and he started cutting the tree so that he would take the honey easily. Unfortunately, he fell first and the branch of the tree fell on him and killed him instantly,” Natali said.
Aweil Center Police Inspector Brigadier General George Awath Wol said: “The payam deputy administrator inspected the site and the body was taken to Awada for burial after legal procedures were made.”
