Africa-Press – South-Sudan. South Sudan’s ruling SPLM party and the main armed opposition SPLM-IO have won their seats in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) along with two independent candidates who defeated their rivals from SSOA and OPP.
According to official results announced by speaker of parliament Jemma Nunu Kumba, women have won four seats (44%) while men got five seats (55%).
Kumba said all previous SPLM members of East African parliament have maintained their positions and two candidates of the the main armed opposition Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) won.
Meanwhile one candidate from South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) and one from Other Political Parties (OPP) lose to independent candidates.

Gai Deng Nhial – SPLM

Sadia James – SPLM-IO
Mukulia Kennedy – Independent
Gideon Gatpan – Independent.
