Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The Juba County Legislative Council has summoned the area County commissioner Charles Wani for overstepping his mandate and issuing orders without the permission of council members.

According to the summon letter obtained by The City Review, the Chairperson of the Juba County Legislative Council, Robert Mila, ordered Wani to appear before the reconstituted council on Monday.

“Therefore, pursuant to Section 37(3) of the Local Government Act, 2009, you are requested to appear before the Juba County Reconstituted Legislative Council to answer questions regarding the above-cited Local Order,” the letter stated.

On July 12, 2023, Wani issued a local order for continuing to use the 2022-2023 budget.

“I, Hon. Eng. Charles Joseph Wani, Commissioner of Juba County, issued this local order to continue using the 2022-2023 budgets until the legislative council adopts the 2023-2024 plans and budgets,” the order states.

He directed the executive director and finance executives of the Juba City Council to ensure that the order was carried out.

The meeting will be held at the offices of the Ministry of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agencies from 10:00 am.
