Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The Commissioner of Yei River County, Aggrey Cyrus Kanyikwa, urged the SPLM members in the area to be peace ambassadors so that they can promote coexistence.

Kanyikwa, who served as the SPLM Chairperson in the county, called on all the party members and leaders to spearhead all initiatives aimed at bringing peace to the country.

He made the statement while officiating the swearing-in of 46 Mugwo Payam SPLM executives, whose membership includes the secretary, assistant secretaries, Payam Liberation Council members, and Boma chairpersons, among others.

According to the statement received from the county press unit, Kanyikwa urged the SPLM Payam officials to promote peace and unity among the people of Mugwo Payam and instil love in the hearts and minds of the people.

He stressed that SPLM has chosen President Salva Kiir to fulfil the vision and mandate of the party, which seeks to establish a peaceful and prosperous nation that takes the responsibility of handling the welfare of all South Sudanese.

“I am happy with the people of Mugwo Payam and SPLM members here for organising such an important event and function,” he said.

He added that it is the first of its kind that the SPLM officials in the Payam and boma are officially sworn in, adding that it shows the progress of the party.

Kanyikwa urged the officials to immediately portray their commitment to the SPLM by working to save lives and improve the livelihood of the people of Mugwo by promoting SPLM action points in education, healthcare services, road works, and serious agriculture production.

He reiterated to the people that in Central Equatoria State, the SPLM State Secretariat had selected Emmanuel Adil as their candidate for the gubernatorial position.

“Our stand shall be to work hard to defend and work for the massive success of Cde Adil. We have no other options but to ensure that he wins to continue as our peacemaker, uniting icon, service provider, and hardworking person,” he said.
