Jeremy Nyamaso Ndola, urged South Sudanese entrepreneurs to seize new opportunities under Kenya’s recently announced “Open-Door” investment policy, which includes a visa-free commitment for all African nationals.
Speaking during the commemoration of Kenya’s 62nd Jamhuri Day in Juba on Friday, December 12, 2025, Ambassador Ndola urged South Sudanese entrepreneurs to take advantage of the opportunity, emphasising that Kenya prioritizes strategic efforts to expand its economy and strengthen regional ties.
Kenya has launched a major campaign to attract investment and foster economic growth, announcing a visa-free policy for all African nationals.
The Ambassador appealed as he focused on Kenya’s strategic efforts to grow its economy and strengthen regional ties.
“If you have some capital and you want to invest in Kenya, please come to us, and we will facilitate you because Kenya is open for all manner of investment so that we can grow our economy,” Ambassador Ndola stated.
Beyond economic policy, Ambassador Ndola reaffirmed Kenya’s dedication to stability in South Sudan, pledging the nation’s full support for the Tumaini Peace Initiative. This initiative is aimed at achieving sustainable stability and development in the country.
The Ambassador encouraged “collegiality on the implementation of the peace agreement” and applauded the recent high-level meeting shared by H.E. Salva Kiir with political party leaders to finalize the transitional period and prepare for the December general elections.
Ambassador Ndola highlighted key policy changes designed to attract foreign capital and promote private-sector participation, such as the Visa-Free Policy, implemented for all Africans to facilitate easy travel for tourists and business people, Private-Public Partnership (PPP), promoting PPP and offering incentives to those seeking to invest in the country.
The Ambassador also underscored Kenya’s expanding global influence, noting Nairobi’s hosting of the United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA) and the co-hosting of the upcoming Africa France Partnership for Innovation and Growth Summit with President Emmanuel Macron.
He proudly announced the decision to locate three additional UN agencies—UNICEF, the United Nations Population Fund, and UN Women Fund—in Nairobi, a move that places the city among the few global hubs for UN agencies, alongside New York, Geneva, and Vienna.
Representing the President of South Sudan, the Minister of General Education, Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok, congratulated Kenya on its Independence Day, acknowledging the deep historical and cultural ties.
Dr. Kuyok praised Kenya’s Pan-African initiatives and its role as a “home to many South Sudanese and a major gateway… to the rest of the world.”
