Africa-PressSouth-Sudan. South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has issued a republican decree appointing head of the nation’s state protocol and dismissing a member of Central Equatoria state government.

In the presidential decree read out on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), President Kiir appointed Honorable Sebit Bullen as Chief State Protocol effective Monday evening.

In many countries, the office of Chief State Protocol, usually a division of the ministry of foreign affairs primarily advises and assists the president, vice president and foreign minister on matters of diplomatic protocol, or etiquette.

In a separate republican decree, Kiir dismissed Kenyi Abiyassa John Wani, deputy chairperson of HIV and AIDS commission for Central Equatoria state, and replaced him with Drani Joseph Timothy. No reasons were given by the presidential decree as to why the South Sudanese head of state were given.
