Africa-Press – South-Sudan. South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Thursday evening removed the managing director of the state-owned oil firm, the Nile Petroleum Corporation widely known as Nilepet.
Kiir, in a decree read on state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) sacked Bol Ring Muorwel who was appointed in September last year to replace Dr. Chol Deng Abel.
The presidential decree did not give reasons as to why the Nilepet chief was sacked. The president did not immediately name replacement. Muorwel has been widely criticized for corruption practices with some accusing him of employing relatives. While Sudans Post cannot establish the authenticity of those claims, Muorwel has been silent on the allegations.
