Africa-Press – South-Sudan. South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Tuesday named Vice-President Benjamin Bol Mel as first deputy head of the ruling SPLM party, revoking the appointment of former Vice-President James Wani Igga.
The appointment comes amid rumors about the president’s health and speculation over his succession by Benjamin Bol, a wealthy businessman sanctioned by the United States of America.
