Africa-Press – South-Sudan. President Salva Kiir has made minor changes in key government institutions, relieving and appointing several senior officials from across different ministries and commissions.

In a series of presidential decrees read on state-owned television SSBC on Thursday, April 24.

President Kiir relieved Eng. Lual Chol Dak from his position as Director General of the Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority in the Ministry of Petroleum.

The changes were made pursuant to the Transitional Constitution of South Sudan, 2011 (as amended), and the Petroleum Act of 2012. Chol was replaced by Eng. Joseph Ezbon Wai Wai Bilali.

Meanwhile, William Chan Achil was relieved from his role as Undersecretary in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management. Kiir appointed Dr. Dennis Marial Muorwel to replace him. The changes were made in accordance with the Civil Service Act of 2011.

In a separate decree, President Kiir made reshuffles at the National Petroleum and Gas Commission. He relieved Engineer Cesar Olia Marko from his position as Chairperson, while Dr. Khalid Marol Riak was relieved as Deputy Chairperson.

In their place, President Kiir appointed Engineer Alir Bullen Ngong as Chairperson and Archangelo Okwang Olir as Deputy Chairperson of the Commission.
