Africa-Press – South-Sudan. President Salva Kiir Mayardit has left this morning to the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa where he will be meeting on bilateral relations with the Ethiopian Prime Minster Dr. Abiy Ahmed.
“President Kiir left Juba this morning for Addis Ababa, on a one day working visit to Ethiopia for bilateral talks with his Ethiopian counterpart Dr. Abiy Ahmed,” Kiir’s office said in a statement seen by Sudans Post following the president’s departure.
The statement said meeting between the two leaders “aims at strengthening the long-standing relations between the two countries.”
South Sudan presidential affairs minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin said, “the two leaders will discuss diplomatic relations, economic cooperation and infrastructure development among others.”
Kiir was seen off at Juba International Airport by First Vice President Riek Machar and was accompanied by senior government officials.
