Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The Members of Parliament from Mayom County, Unity State have called on the national government to bring to book perpetrators of a road ambush that left seven people dead.

The civilians of Bul Community were killed in a ambush attack last Tuesday, between Molbang and Majoknoon, Turalei County of Warrap State.

The lawmakers are now calling for blood compensation of those who were killed.

“The perpetrators must be brought before Justice and accountability, and blood compensation of those who were killed in the above mentioned incidences,” read the statement from the lawmakers.

The MPs further called for the government to form a committee to investigate inter-communal violence between Warrap State and Unity State.

“The national government to form committees to investigate the continuous inter-communal violence between Warrap and Unity State (Mayom County),” the statement continued.

They further called for Mayom County and Warrap State National Legislature Forum to be reopened to curb inter-communal conflict, and community dialogue is launched.

The office of the governor of Warrap State could not immedia;ay be reached for comments.

Mayom County had been facing a lot of insecurity issues related to inter-communal clashes and cattle rustling.

Last year, over 900 cattle were raided.

Bol said the raiders were suspected to have come from Gogrial East County, Warrap State, and called on the government of Warrap State to investigate the attackers for them to return cattle to their rightful owners.

But the government of Warrap State did not respond to the accusations.
