Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The government of Central Equatoria State has donated food items to internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in Ngangala, Lirya Payam.

The delegation, led by the state’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Vianna Kakuli Aggrey, was dispatched by the governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony. They donated 300 sacks of maize, 20 jerrycans of cooking oil, and 20 bags of pulses to IDPs on Saturday.

Vianna promised the IDPs protection against external aggressors so that they could cultivate and run their normal lives as before.

“It is painful to turn the barrel of the gun towards your sibling.” “When you spot any external aggressor, inform our security, because if you keep quiet, the criminal will cause damage and it will be too late,” she stated.

“The governor sent us to bring you this food so that the little children will have something to eat so that the children do not sleep hungry.”

The commissioner of Juba County, Eng Charles Joseph, promised protection to the IDPs and urged them to return to their homes.

He assured them of the government’s commitment to cater to their needs, including food and protection.

Hon Alex Latiyu called for cooperation among communities, assuring them that the government would not sleep till the issue of insecurity in handled.

Ngangala IDP camp is hosting 8,170 civilians displaced on June 24, 2022, in an incident which led to the loss of the lives of 9 civilians in the hands of unknown gunmen.
