Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The government’s spokesperson and Minister of Information, Michael Makuei, said the country needs a reliable power source rather than generators to be able to pursue economic development.
Addressing the delegates at the National Economic Conference at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Juba, Makuei said a reliable power source would reduce the cost of communication and smooth operations in other sectors.
“It is not sufficient for us to manage institutions through generators, and that is why the communication sector is costly because we are using generators,” Makuei said.
According to him, without a proper and reliable source of power, the country’s economy will continue to confront power issues.
“Without a reliable source of power there will be no economic growth,” he said.
