The Commissioner of Mayendit County, Gatluak Nyang, promised unwavering support for President Salva Kiir in the upcoming December 2024 elections.
Nyang, who spoke during the reception of area governor Joseph Manytuil in Rubkuay Payam, Mayendit County, on Wednesday, said Mayendit residents will rally behind Kiir in December in the forthcoming election.
Manytuil lauded the residents of Mayendit County and reaffirmed their commitment to deliver the services needed.
“I will stand by your rights to have basic services like roads, hospitals, and schools. But we must also acknowledge the importance of peace with your neighbouring communities. Because it is with peace that we would be able to deliver basic necessities to our people. “
Manytuil pledged to construct durable roads linking Rubkuay Payam to Mayendit town, adding that Rubkuay PHCC would also be upgraded to the level of a hospital.
He further urged Mayendit residents to stand with President Kiir, stressing that the SPLM is the right party to vote for in the 2024 elections.
Governor Manytuil visited Mayendit County and his accompanying delegation including Members of the National Legislative Assembly, State Advisors, Ministers and heads of organised forces.
The courtesy visit was part of his peace tours to Southern Unity State, aiming to consolidate peace and sensitise the local communities about the 2024 general elections.
Manytuil received a cordial reception upon his arrival in Rubkuay Payam from the Mayendit County Commissioner, local authorities and thousands of civilians.
