Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The newly appointed deputy governor of Upper Nile State, Deng Jou, has said that he will work with his boss the governor to implement all items related to peace.to realize development in the state.
Addressing the citizens at the Upper Nile State Coordination Office in Juba on Monday, Jou explained that Upper Nile State needs development and stressed that he will work with Governor James Odok to implement the peace agreement, saying that the state can only be reconstructed through the implementation of the peace agreement.
“If peace is absent, there is no development and I call on the people of Upper Nile to fight tribalism,” he said. “We will go to Upper Nile State to work for the state and to work with the state government.”
According to Jou, Upper Nile State lags in development and that development must include all areas of the state, starting with the Nuer regions from Nasser to Ulang which will be reconstructed.
Some citizens of Upper Nile State expressed their happiness with the appointment of Deng Jou as Deputy Governor of Upper Nile State.
Ismail Aduok believes that the newly appointed official shall contribute to the development of Upper Nile State. He said the state government is now youthful.
“We support any policies of the national government towards the state,” he stated.
Garkuath Both, one of the chiefs of the Nuer tribe in Upper Nile State, confirmed his support for the president’s decision to appoint a deputy governor of Upper Nile State.
“Our goal as the people of Upper Nile State is that we want peace and peace not only in Upper Nile State but in all ten states in addition to the three administrative regions,” he said.
