Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The First Deputy Secretary General of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), Akol Paul Kordit, has directed the Political Parties Youth Forum (PPYF) to embark on civic engagement across the country.

This came after President Salva Kiir, in his end-of-year speech, called for civil engagement across the country to educate the population on the peace agreement.

In a meeting with the political youth group in his office on Thursday, Akol called for the dissemination of the roadmap to create awareness among the civil population on the importance of peace.

He argued that peace dissemination remains very vital in aiding the process of forgiveness and reconciliation.

Akol appealed to the youth to disseminate and embrace peace among themselves, including involving youth at the grass-roots level.

However, he appreciated the group for coming together as youth from different political parties to work for the welfare of the citizens.

Akol highlighted that most areas in the country need peace dissemination to promote reconciliation and forgiveness.

“We need the political parties’ youth forum to be inclusive of all the youth from all the political parties in order to take up the responsibility of preaching R-ARCISS to the local population together,” Akol said.

On his part, Charles Obaj Adwok, Chairperson of the Political Parties Forum (PPYF), vowed to ensure the forum served its objective of bringing youth together and taking part in bringing permanent peace to the country.

He added that the youth forum would continue to reach all the youth across the country by preaching message of reconciliation and forgiveness.

“The forum would continue to preach the word of peace among the youth and the people at the grass-roots level,” Obaj said.

According to Obaj, the group planned to tour the states to engage the youth across the country to embrace peace and reconciliation.

Obaj said the group comprised of the youth from the political parties who came together to volunteer in peace dissemination in the country.

He appealed to the government and the political parties to fund the forum to complete its objective of disseminating peace, reconciliation and forgiveness.

Obaj hailed the youth for their efforts in working for unity and remaining steadfast in matters of national interest.
