Service delivery tops CES strategic plan

Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The government of Central Equatoria State has set service delivery as a priority in its strategic plan for 2022.
The state held an extraordinary council of ministers meeting on Monday where the cabinet came up with a strategic plan that includes security stability, resolving land grabbing puzzles, electronic collection of revenues, repatriation of the returnees, and resolving the issue of communal conflict.
State Minister of Information and Communication, Dr Adruga Mabe Saverio, said service delivery has been considered a priority in the CES strategic plan because of the prevailing peace in the state.
“The priority of the government of Central Equatoria State, as provided for in the policy, is service delivery. We are working on the dissemination of peace because stability is the only way for development for our citizens,” Dr Mabe told The City Review in a telephone interview yesterday.
He said Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony had directed all the government institutions and line ministries to work on the strategic plan for this year so that people could get good services from the government.
He said the government officials, including the ministers, have been directed to cooperate with the partners so that they can achieve the strategic plan.
On Monday, during the extraordinary cabinet meeting, Governor Emmanuel Adil said his leadership would continue to engage the holdout groups to denounce violence and join the peace deal.
He said the state government will formulate laws that will prevent cattle from moving from one place to another to avoid violence among the cattle keepers and farmers.
Adil tasked the ministries of animal resources and local government with creating the necessary mechanisms so that cattle movement was resolved in the state.
He said the state government and its partners, like the United Nations Mission in South Sudan [UNMISS], would work in partnership to resolve the communal conflict, especially among the farming and cattle keeping communities.
Governor Adil also promised to improve security in the state to provide a conducive environment for the resettlement of the returnees and IDPs.
