Africa-Press – South-Sudan. Zalan FC are firmly at the summit of the South Sudan National League thanks to a 3-0 victory against Super Stars on Thursday.
Akot Akot was the hero of the day after scoring a hat trick in a show of dominance by Zalan.
Zalan have now harvested all the six points from the opening two games, taking them firmly at the top of the table.
Zalan beat Renk side Al Qadasia 3-1 in the opening match and the second straight victory is a clear intent to win the league.
Al Qadasia have lost all their opening matches, leaving super Stars and Zalan as favourites to battle for the title. Al Qadasis went down 2-1 to Super Stars.
The three teams will compete in their return leg to determine the league champion.
The team with the most points would be crowned league champions.
The competition’s winner will receive $25,000 as a prize.
Meanwhile, Super Star will square it up with Al Qadasia, a match that the Bor side will be looking forward to bounce back from the last setback.
