Africa-Press – South-Sudan. A Brigadier General of the Joknyang Declaration Faction has been murdered.
Brigadier Kapyang Pey was murdered on Sunday evening in Mankien Payam, south of Mayom County.
The commander in chief of the Joknyang declaration faction Major Gen. Tito Biel confirmed to City Review through a said that the late Kapyang met his death after a five-day tour of his village where he had met with the area’s paramount chief.
“Kapyang asked me for a leave, five days ago to go to Mankien to solve the feuding issue of his nephew who was killed three months ago.
He wanted to settle that matter with his sub-clan chiefs.
“[Unfortunately], I received a called from the authorities that he was speared to death,’’ Biel said.
Biel suspects that his killers were relatives of the alleged killers of Brigadier Kapyang’s nephew killed in late August.
“Kapyang once told me that they were looking for every member of his family. That is why they killed him because they knew he was in Mankien,’’ Biel added.
Biel further stressed out that he will send out some troops tomorrow (Tuesday) to look for the alleged killers.
“I am working on sending out some forces to Matnuer to bring all their cattle to the military camp and will be kept in the camp until the culprits are found because they ran away,” Biel said.
“We are working on it. Forces will be sent to the area to bring all their cattle so that those miscreants could be brought to justice,” Sacristan Zoal, the spokesperson for the Joknyang declaration faction echoed Major Gen. Tito Biel sentiments.
