Africa-Press – South-Sudan. Suspected armed youth from Tonj East County in Warrap State killed at least two people in Rumbek North County of Lakes State on Friday, local officials said.

The Rumbek North County commissioner, Samuel Mabor Deng told Sudans Post on Saturday that the deceased included a woman and an elderly man.

“Around 8:30pm, Launyjang youth came and killed one woman and one old man. The same night, they kidnapped four women who were released,” he said.

He said Launyjang community youth from Warrap State carried out the attack.

The commissioner vowed to control his people from any form of revenge attacks.

“What we know are clashes between the youth of Launyjang and Pakam, but now it is advancing to the old people and women,” said Mabor.

“We will talk to authorities from Tonj East county to control their youth from violence attack and killing innocent people in Rumbek North county,” he added.

Mabor called for dialogue to resolve any differences among feuding communities.

The Tonj East County commissioner, William Arop Mawut said he was yet to get accurate information from his Rumbek North counterpart regarding the attack.

“The information I received is that two people were killed; a man and a woman on the side of Maper in Rumbek North County. Youth from Rumbek North county are accusing Tonj East county, but we are still investigating this,” he said.

In a separate incident, one person was killed and 80 herds of cattle recovered in Malueth payam of Rumbek North County on Friday, a local official confirmed.

The Rumbek North County commissioner said the attack occurred in Yar village.
