Africa-Press – South-Sudan. South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) has allocated $25,000 for the 2021/2022 South Sudan National League winners.

The SSFA organising committee chairperson, Wiyual Lampuoch, said this during the draw of the South Sudan National League yesterday in Juba.

2021/2022 South Sudan will begin on Monday, May 25, in three zones: Zone One will be in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, Aweil Town, Zone Two will be in Juba, and Zone Three will be in Malakal.

According to the organising committee, the 9th edition of the South Sudan National League will feature 15 clubs from 15 local football associations, with Abyei being left out of insecurity.

Mr. Wiyual Lampuoch, speaking during the South Sudan National League draw at its headquarters in Juba, said it was critical for the teams to put in their best effort in order to win the prize money set aside for the competition.

“This time we decided to approve $25, 000 for the club that will win the National League competition through the leadership of SSFA, under the leadership of Gen. Augustino Maduot,” the organizing committee chief revealed.

He said it will not be the same as the just-finished South Sudan Cup, when the runners-up and third-place finishers received cash, and that this time it would be solely for the winners.

Mr. Lampuoch indicated that the $25,000 was given to the club to help them prepare for subsequent regional tournaments and that the money was only given to the winner.

The victors of the just finished 2021/2022 South Sudan Cup received $20,000, while the runners-up received $7,000 and $3,000, respectively, for third and fourth place.

Mr. Lampuoch urged the clubs to put in extra effort in order to win the SSFA $25,000 prize for their squad.

Below are the draws

Zone one which will be held in Aweil and will feature five clubs, including:

Muduria FC of Aweil will kick off the competition against Ghazala FC of Wau on April 25 next week.
