Warrap governor lifts suspension on journalist Mayom

Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The governor of Warrap State Manhiem Bol Malek has lifted the suspension on Radio Miraya journalist Manyang Mayom by his predecessor.

In November 2021, former Warrap governor, General Aleu Ayieny Aleu ordered Mayom to leave the state within 72 hours.

Aleu accused the UN radio reporter of participating in activities that jeopardized peace and stability in Warrap State-something the journalist had described as an ultimate surprise.

However, in the gubernatorial order dated January 18th, 2023, governor Manhiem Bol Malek, lifted the suspension.

The order was effected on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the South Sudan Union of Journalists has welcomed the lifting of the suspension and resumption of duties of the journalist in the state.
