Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The acting governor of Sudan’s West Darfur State, Tjani Al-Tahir Karshoum, on Tuesday issued an emergency order imposing a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew.

The emergency order also prohibits the firing of guns within the state’s borders, starting Wednesday, for one month.

Unknown armed groups became active in liquidating notables and members of the native administration and firing gunshots into the air, causing terror among the citizens of the state.

The emergency order stipulates that violators will be fined one million Sudanese pounds and failure to pay will result in imprisonment for not less than one month. Repeat offenders will be fined and imprisoned for three months.
